Comprehensive Child and Family Assessment

A Comprehensive Child and Family Assessment is required for all Children entering care, the family members and collaterals associated with the child. The thorough evaluation of the Child and family builds on the evaluation done during the investigation and identifies characteristics of the child, parent, and family that contributed to safety hazards and the possibility of child abuse. CCFA offers support to DFCS employees, the juvenile court, families, and service providers in creating case plans, selecting placements, hastening permanency, and organizing efficient service interventions.
